Naples province student protests lead to charges against four minors
Carabinieri have identified four minors for legal action following student protests in Pomigliano d’Arco and Marigliano, located in the province of Naples. Approximately 500 young people participated in the demonstrations.
In Pomigliano d’Arco, where about 300 students gathered, the use of firecrackers and smoke bombs caused a 17-year-old student to fall ill after a close-range explosion. She was treated on-site by emergency services and is reported to be in stable condition. Authorities identified three minors—aged 14 and 16—responsible for explosions during the march. Seized items included Kobra-type firecrackers, smoke bombs, a flare, a balaclava, a Salvador Dalí mask, and a dose of marijuana found on one 16-year-old. These individuals will face charges through the Naples Juvenile Prosecutor's Office and may face urban restraining orders (Daspo urbano).
In Marigliano, during a protest involving 200 youths, a 15-year-old boy wearing a balaclava was intercepted by authorities. He was found to be in possession of a glass-breaking hammer in his backpack and will also face legal charges.
