Naples school targeted in theft of educational equipment

Thieves targeted the ‘Quattro Giornate’ primary school in the Gianturco district of Naples, breaking in during the night to steal various educational tools and electronic equipment. The stolen items include printers, photocopiers, and multimedia whiteboards intended for students and staff.

Cleaning staff discovered the break-in and the ransacked premises early in the morning. Officers from the Poggioreale police station are currently investigating the incident, working to reconstruct the raid and identify the perpetrators, potentially utilizing local video surveillance.

This theft follows a recent incident in the same area, where unknown individuals used an oxy-fuel torch to break into a safe at the Fourth Municipality office in via Gianturco, stealing over 8,000 euros. Luigi Musto, president of the Commission for Youth and Labor Policies, described the school raid as a ‘very serious and deplorable act’ and called for strengthened preventive security measures in the neighborhood.
