SSC Napoli advances major infrastructure and stadium projects

SSC Napoli is nearing a significant milestone in its long-term infrastructure strategy with the imminent acquisition of land in Qualiano for a new sports complex. The project, known as the 'Cittadella Azzurra', will span approximately 18 hectares and include ten football pitches, a 2,000-seat mini-stadium for Youth League matches, gyms, a swimming pool, and integrated housing for young players. Legal and financial consultants are currently finalizing the bureaucratic details to allow for a formal signing of the preliminary contract.

In a separate strategic move, club president Aurelio De Laurentiis is scheduled to meet with the Aponte family, owners of MSC, in Switzerland. While no formal negotiations for the sale of the club are underway, the discussions are expected to focus on the development of a new 70,000-seat stadium in San Giovanni a Teduccio. The club aims to explore deeper involvement from MSC beyond its current sponsorship role, potentially leading to a partnership for the new arena.

On the pitch, despite recent challenges in Serie A and Champions League, De Laurentiis has indicated he does not intend to dismiss head coach Massimiliano Allegri, emphasizing that results must improve to maintain stability.
