Napoli records high attendance at America’s Cup preliminary regatta

Napoli’s preliminary regatta for the America’s Cup has recorded significant attendance and economic impact, serving as a precursor to the 2027 edition supported by the Italian government. The four-day event saw a total of 278,893 attendees between land and sea, including 252,520 visitors to the Race Village and 26,373 spectators at sea.

According to an analysis by Sport e Salute, the event's turnout significantly exceeded previous benchmarks, such as the Barcelona preliminary regatta, which saw 7.5 times fewer Race Village visitors. The peak day recorded over 120,000 presences, surpassing the final day attendance of the 2024 Barcelona America’s Cup.

Beyond sports viewership, the event influenced local tourism, contributing to a rise in September tourist arrivals to 2.2 million. Total spending in the event area was estimated at 3.8 million euros, with social media content generating over 20 million views.
