Napoli target Benfica midfielder Richard Rios as midfield reinforcement

Napoli are assessing a midfield signing as they prepare for the upcoming season under new coach Massimiliano Allegri. Sporting director Giovanni Manna has identified 26‑year‑old Colombian Richard Rios, a regular starter at Benfica, as the club’s preferred option. Rios, who scored five goals this season and is noted for his physicality, ball‑winning ability and pressing, could serve as an alternative to Frank Zambo Anguissa, whose future remains uncertain. Napoli are reportedly prepared to meet a transfer fee of about €30 million plus bonuses, with the move slated for the summer of 2025‑26.
