PM Modi attends Bhajan Clubbing event in Delhi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended a ‘Bhajan Clubbing’ event at Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Park in New Delhi on September 25. The event was held to commemorate the 110th birth anniversary of Bharatiya Jana Sangh leader Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya.

‘Bhajan Clubbing’ is a modern cultural trend that blends traditional devotional music with a concert-style atmosphere, featuring modern lighting, sound systems, and high-energy arrangements designed to appeal to younger generations, particularly Gen Z. During the performance, the Prime Minister was seen participating by clapping and playing a kanjira (a small percussion instrument) to the rhythm of devotional songs, including the track ‘Parvati’ from the film ‘Hanuman Ansh’.

The event drew political reaction. Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge criticized the Prime Minister’s participation, questioning his priorities and suggesting that the government should focus on addressing serious questions regarding the Election Commission rather than attending musical celebrations. The BJP responded by accusing the Congress party of disrespecting India’s cultural and devotional traditions.
