Narendra Modi interacts with National Teachers' Award winners

On the occasion of Teachers' Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held an interactive session with the winners of the National Teachers' Awards at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg. The Prime Minister emphasized that Teachers' Day is a time to appreciate the vital contributions of educators and to pay tribute to Dr. S. Radhakrishnan.

During the discussion, the Prime Minister urged educators to look beyond textbooks and curricula to engage deeply with students' lives, interests, and challenges. He stressed the importance of preserving a child's curiosity, creativity, and openness, stating that teachers must help identify the unique talents of every child, even those who may not excel academically.

Modi also expressed concern regarding increasing screen time among children. He encouraged teachers to promote physical sports and creative activities to reduce reliance on digital devices. The interaction included lighthearted exchanges, such as the Prime Minister asking for tips on public speaking and discussing innovative teaching methods like teaching students how to conduct interviews.
