NASA announces four astronauts for Artemis III lunar mission

NASA will reveal the four astronauts selected for the Artemis III mission on 9 June, ahead of a planned launch in late 2027 from Kennedy Space Center using the Orion capsule and the Space Launch System rocket.

The crew will conduct an in‑orbit test of rendezvous and docking with commercial lunar lander modules being developed by SpaceX and Blue Origin, a critical step following the crewed Artemis II flight.

Among the astronauts discussed are veteran Andre Douglas, former ISS commander Jessica Meir, astronaut Victor Glover, test pilot Randolph "Komrade" Bresnik and geologist Jessica Watkins, each bringing extensive flight experience to the upcoming lunar exploration effort.
