NASA seeks space partnership with Turkey under Artemis Accords

NASA Deputy Administrator Matt Anderson has expressed the agency's interest in establishing a partnership with Turkey under the framework of the Artemis Accords. Speaking at the International Astronautical Congress in Antalya, Anderson noted that space exploration has become a national priority for Ankara.

Anderson highlighted that Turkey could contribute significantly to the construction of the lunar base planned under the Artemis program by providing advanced technology, engineers, scientists, and astronauts. He noted that 76 nations have already joined the Artemis Accords, and Turkey's involvement would represent a major step in enhancing international cooperation for space exploration.

Additionally, Anderson clarified that NASA distinguishes between peaceful space exploration and matters of national security, expressing a desire to collaborate with various government entities within that context.
