NASCAR México to host doubleheader in Yucatán
The NASCAR México Series has announced a historic doubleheader event to be held at the Autódromo Yucatán Emerson Fittipaldi in Progreso on October 17–18. This event, known as the Gran Premio Yucatán 200, serves as a crucial playoff race and national semifinal for the 2026 Chase for the Cup.
The decision to host two consecutive point-paying rounds in Yucatán follows the cancellation of a scheduled race in Monterrey. The weekend will feature competition across the NASCAR México, NASCAR Challenge, and Trucks México series.
Local driver Carlos Novelo Flota, currently a top contender in the Trucks México standings, is expected to play a significant role as he competes on his home track. The event is anticipated to provide an economic boost to the region through increased tourism and hospitality demand.
