NASCAR México Series championship progression

Overview

The 2026 NASCAR México Series has transitioned into the championship phase, known as ‘The Chase’. Following the conclusion of the regular season, drivers Rubén García Jr. and Max Gutiérrez of the Canel’s team have secured their postseason spots. García Jr. enters the final stage as the championship leader.

The playoff format consists of a four-race series where the champion is determined by total accumulated points rather than an elimination system. Due to the cancellation of a scheduled race in Monterrey, the series has announced a historic doubleheader event at the Autódromo Yucatán Emerson Fittipaldi in Progreso.

Scheduled for October 17–18, the ‘Gran Premio Yucatán 200’ will serve as a crucial playoff race and a national semifinal for the 2026 Chase for the Cup. The weekend will include competition across the NASCAR México, NASCAR Challenge, and Trucks México series. Local driver Carlos Novelo Flota, a top contender in the Trucks México standings, is expected to compete on his home track.
