NASCAR observes Kyle Busch Day to honor racing legend

The NASCAR community is observing ‘Kyle Busch Day’ on August 18 to honor the life and legacy of the two-time Cup Series champion. The date, 8-18, serves as a tribute to the car numbers associated with his career: the No. 8 Chevrolet he drove for Richard Childress Racing and the No. 18 Toyota with which he won his championships at Joe Gibbs Racing.

Busch, 41, passed away unexpectedly on May 21 due to complications from severe bacterial pneumonia and sepsis. He leaves behind a record-breaking career, including 234 combined victories across NASCAR’s three national series and 63 wins in the premier Cup Series.

Industry members, including competitors, team owners, and corporate executives, are participating in the tribute via social media using hashtags such as #ForeverRowdy and #KyleBuschDay to share memories of the driver’s impact on the sport and his charitable contributions.
