NASCAR reveals 2027 schedules and military base racing plans

NASCAR has released its full 2027 national series schedules for the Cup, O'Reilly Auto Parts, and Craftsman Truck Series. A major highlight of the upcoming season is the return of NASCAR San Diego at Naval Base Coronado from July 30 to August 1, 2027. Following the success of the inaugural event, NASCAR and the Department of Defense have established a multi-year plan to rotate street races at different U.S. military installations, with the first new location planned for 2028.

The 2027 Cup Series season will begin with The Clash at Daytona International Speedway on February 13 and conclude at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Other notable schedule features include the All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro Speedway and the return of Chicagoland Speedway.

In the O'Reilly Auto Parts Series, driver lineups for 2027 are already beginning to form. Lee Pulliam has announced he will drive the No. 87 for Peterson Racing full-time, while Richard Childress Racing has confirmed Carson Brown and Chandler Smith for their No. 2 and No. 21 Chevrolet entries, respectively.
