NASENI launches FutureMakers Virtual Hackathon for 60 innovators

The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) is launching the FutureMakers Virtual Hackathon and Pitch sessions. The program features 60 shortlisted innovators selected from thousands of applicants across Nigeria's six geopolitical zones.

The virtual hackathon is scheduled to run from August 17 to August 21, 2026, followed by pitch sessions from August 24 to August 26. During the hackathon, participants will work with technical facilitators and mentors to develop solutions for specific challenges within their respective zones. Successful participants will then present their solutions to a panel of judges and industry leaders.

Financial incentives include prizes of ₦1.5 million, ₦1 million, and ₦500,000 for first, second, and third-place winners in each zone. The top six winners from each zone will advance to the NASENI Invention Fest, where they can compete for a ₦5 million prize, an international study tour, and fully funded scholarships to two leading Nigerian universities.
