NASENI innovation and hackathon initiatives
Overview
The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) has initiated the FutureMakers Virtual Hackathon and Pitch sessions. The program involves 60 shortlisted innovators selected from thousands of applicants across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones.
The virtual hackathon is set to occur from August 17 to August 21, 2026, with subsequent pitch sessions scheduled for August 24 to August 26. Participants will collaborate with technical facilitators and mentors to address specific regional challenges.
Winners in each zone will receive cash prizes of ₦1.5 million, ₦1 million, and ₦500,000 for first, second, and third place, respectively. The top six winners from each zone will advance to the NASENI Invention Fest to compete for a ₦5 million prize, an international study tour, and fully funded scholarships to two leading Nigerian universities.
