Nashik: Missing eight-month-old baby girl found safe
An eight-month-old baby girl who went missing from the Nandgaon taluka in Maharashtra’s Nashik district on September 17 was found safe on Sunday. The infant was discovered abandoned near Vaibothi village in the neighboring Yeola taluka. Following identification by her mother and local police, she was taken to the Yeola Sub-District Hospital for medical examination. Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances regarding how the child was moved and why she was left abandoned.
In a separate large-scale effort, the Odisha Police and the Crime Against Women and Children Wing conducted an operation that successfully rescued 101 missing children, consisting of 54 boys and 47 girls. Seventeen specialized teams were deployed across various Indian states and Union Territories, including West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, and Gujarat, to trace the children. Notable recoveries included a three-month-old infant and one child who had been away from home for over five years.
