Nashville Sam’s Club worker killed by stray bullet
A 55-year-old Frito-Lay employee, Paris Carlock of Murfreesboro, was killed by a stray bullet inside a Nashville Sam’s Club early in the morning. The incident occurred shortly after 4 a.m. while Carlock was conducting product inventory in the store's chip aisle.
According to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, the gunfire originated from a dispute that began inside Lavo Lounge on Antioch Pike. Although security staff had escorted the individuals involved out of the lounge, the argument reportedly continued outside. A bullet from the ensuing confrontation pierced the metal exterior wall of the Sam’s Club, striking Carlock in the head.
Sam’s Club staff attempted to provide aid before Carlock was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Homicide Unit detectives are investigating the incident. No arrests have been made, and police have not yet released descriptions of the suspects or the vehicles seen fleeing the scene.
