Nasir El-Rufai addresses silence of associates amid political challenges

Former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai has addressed his recent reflections on the silence of friends and associates during his current political difficulties. In a statement released on X, El-Rufai noted that while he has supported various individuals and causes in the past, he bears no resentment toward those who have chosen to remain silent or distance themselves from him. He stated that adversity has illuminated his relationships and may lead him to reconsider certain connections.

Speculation by commentators suggested that Emir of Kano, Khalifa Muhammadu Sanusi II, might be among those El-Rufai referred to. However, Asia Mohammad Ahmad, wife of El-Rufai, dismissed these claims, clarifying that the Emir remains on good terms with the family and urging the public to stop making unfounded links.

In separate developments in Kaduna State, Governor Uba Sani has received praise from the Contractors Association of Kaduna State for implementing a monthly payment plan to settle verified debts inherited from the previous administration. Additionally, former lawmaker Shehu Sani commended Governor Sani for his efforts in promoting peace and religious reconciliation between northern and southern Kaduna communities.
