Nasz Prąd S. A. fined 21 million PLN by Polish regulator

The Polish Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) has imposed a fine exceeding 21 million PLN on Nasz Prąd S. A. for using 21 prohibited clauses in consumer contracts within the renewable energy sector.

The regulator identified several illegal provisions, including terms that allowed the company to alter equipment parameters—such as the power of a heat pump—and change the contract price after the agreement was signed. Other contested clauses allowed the company to impose high penalties on customers or shift installation responsibilities onto them.

Beyond the contract clauses, UOKiK is investigating further complaints regarding how sales representatives present offers, information about subsidies, the handling of credit agreements, and difficulties in withdrawing from contracts. Due to suspicions of illegal activities during the contracting process, the regulator has also notified the prosecutor's office.
