Brazil fuel prices dip in early July, diesel leads decline

The National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) reported that fuel prices fell across Brazil during the week of July 5‑11. Diesel prices dropped 0.7%, with the S‑10 grade falling to R$ 6.97 per litre (from R$ 7.02) and the S‑500 grade to R$ 6.64 (from R$ 6.69). Gasoline also declined 0.4% to an average of R$ 6.58 per litre, down from R$ 6.61. Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) fell 0.1% to R$ 114.41 per 13‑kg cylinder.

The most expensive diesel and gasoline were recorded in Guarujá, São Paulo, at R$ 9.79 per litre. The cheapest diesel was found in Rio de Janeiro at R$ 5.89 per litre, while the lowest gasoline price was in Araraquara, São Paulo, at R$ 5.49 per litre. LPG prices peaked at R$ 161 per cylinder in Uruguaiana, Rio Grande do Sul, and were lowest at R$ 79 in Caçapava, São Paulo.
