National Architecture Exhibition opens in Balıkesir

The 20th National Architecture Exhibition and Award-Winning Projects Exhibition has opened at the Balıkesir City Council Exhibition Hall. The opening ceremony was conducted by Prof. Dr. Şengül Öymen Gür.

Osman Zeki Şahin, Chairman of the Chamber of Architects Balıkesir Branch, noted that the program was established in 1988 to commemorate the 400th anniversary of Mimar Sinan's death and has shaped the country's architectural culture for 38 years. The exhibition features award winners from this period, including the Mimar Sinan Grand Prize awarded to Semra Uygur and Özcan Uygur, the Contribution Award to Ömür Bakırer and Celal Abdi Güzer, and the Selection Committee Special Award to Mücella Yapıcı.

Following its stop in Balıkesir, the exhibition will continue its tour across Turkey. It remains open to the public at the Balıkesir City Council Exhibition Hall from September 1 to September 3.
