National Cathedral project stalled by lack of Christian commitment, says Duncan-Williams

Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams, the founder and General Overseer of Action Chapel International, has attributed the stalled National Cathedral project in Ghana to a lack of commitment from Christians rather than corruption.

During a sermon, Duncan-Williams, who previously served on the project's Board of Trustees, stated, “The National Cathedral was not built, not because of corruption. I was right there. It was because we Christians are not serious.” He criticized believers for being “selfish” and “greedy,” arguing that many focus on personal wealth and immediate family needs instead of contributing to the long-term legacy of the church.

The Archbishop urged worshippers to consider their responsibilities to the wider Christian community and to support charitable causes, such as assisting widows and families in financial distress. The National Cathedral is a major interdenominational initiative proposed by former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
