National Commission for Women to host workshop for 200 women legislators

The National Commission for Women (NCW) will host a two-day All-India Capacity Building Workshop titled ‘Gender-Responsive Governance’ in Faridabad starting September 7. The event is expected to host more than 200 women legislators representing 25 states.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla is scheduled to serve as the chief guest for the workshop. NCW Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar formally invited Birla to the event, noting that his guidance would provide inspiration for the participants. Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has also been invited as a special guest.

The workshop is part of the NCW’s nationwide ‘She is a Changemaker’ programme, which aims to increase women’s active participation in politics. The initiative focuses on developing leadership, communication, and writing skills to empower women representatives in their respective states.
