National Commission for Women to host workshop for women legislators

The National Commission for Women (NCW) is organizing a two-day capacity building workshop titled ‘She is a Changemaker’ in Faridabad, Haryana, starting September 7. The event focuses on gender-responsive governance and will bring together women legislators from 22 Indian states.

Led by NCW Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar, the workshop will feature Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla as a chief guest and Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini. The program aims to strengthen the leadership capacities of women representatives by providing tools and platforms for more effective governance.

Key discussion topics include effective public leadership, gender budgeting, the protection of women's rights, support mechanisms for women in distress, and the implementation of women-centric welfare schemes. The workshop also intends to explore the role of Self Help Groups in advancing economic empowerment and grassroots leadership.
