National Falcons Center hosts international falcon auction in Riyadh

The National Falcons Center is hosting the International Falcon Breeding Farms Auction in Malham, north of Riyadh, until August 25. The event serves as a specialized platform connecting global breeding farms, falconers, and buyers within a regulated environment.

To ensure transparency and protect the rights of both buyers and sellers, the Center has implemented a comprehensive set of regulatory, legal, and financial procedures. The sales process involves several stages: an initial agreement on value, formal documentation through a sales department, physical verification by a sorting committee to ensure specifications match the records, legal signing, and financial settlement. Once completed, the falcon is registered in the Center’s racing system and issued an official exit permit.

During the seventh night of the auction, a ‘Three-Lobed Gyr (Super White)’ falcon was sold for 1.3 million riyals, marking it as the second most expensive falcon in the auction's history. Additionally, two falcons from a Canadian farm were sold for a combined 1.45 million riyals. The auction features participation from leading breeding farms worldwide and is broadcast via television and social media platforms.
