Saudi Arabia International Falcon Auction Concludes

Overview

The 2026 International Falcon Breeding Farms Auction, hosted by the National Falcon Center in Malham, north of Riyadh, has concluded after running from August 5 to August 25. The three-week event featured participation from over 90 breeding farms representing 24 countries.

Total sales for the auction exceeded 33 million riyals, with more than 2,200 falcons sold. High-value transactions remained a focal point, including the sale of a ‘Mathlouth Gyr’ falcon for 1.3 million riyals, which stood as the most expensive falcon sold during this specific session and the second most expensive in the auction’s history.

Throughout the event, the National Center for Wildlife emphasized regulatory frameworks and conservation. Workshops addressed breeding center licensing, species conservation, and anti-doping measures. The ‘Fatri’ electronic platform continues to manage these processes, having issued over 531,000 licenses and permits to more than 135,000 users with a 92.2% beneficiary satisfaction rate.

CEO Talal bin Abdulaziz Al-Shumaisi noted that the auction serves as an international hub for producers and falconers, facilitating both trade and knowledge exchange. The event also included educational programs designed for youth and families to support the preservation of falconry as cultural heritage.
