National football teams announce squad selections for upcoming tournaments
Algeria's U21 national team coach, Brahim Hemdani, has announced an 18-player squad for the 20th Mediterranean Games. The tournament is scheduled to take place in Taranto, Italy, from August 21 to September 3. The squad, selected by the Algerian Football Federation (FAF), consists of two goalkeepers, five defenders, six midfielders, and five attackers. Algeria is placed in Group B alongside the host nation Italy, Kosovo, and Albania.
In Senegal, U23 national team coach Serigne Saliou Dia has called up 23 new players for a training camp at the Youssoupha Ndiaye Excellence Centre in Guéréo. Scheduled for August 13 to 15, this second selection phase aims to prepare for the upcoming U23 Africa Cup of Nations. This new group features entirely different players from the initial gathering, drawing talent from various national championship clubs including Teungueth FC, Dakar Sacré-Cœur, and Jaraaf.
