National History Museum of Moldova preserves national heritage
The National History Museum of Moldova, located in a historic building in Chisinau, serves as a primary institution for researching and preserving the nation’s historical heritage. Established on December 21, 1983, the museum’s collections originated from the Museum of Military Glory and the State Museum of History and Study of the Native Land.
Key exhibitions include ‘Pages of Multimillennial History,’ which traces regional history from ancient times to 1940, and ‘Treasures of the Past,’ which showcases significant gold and silver artifacts found within the Republic of Moldova. Additionally, the ‘Memory of War. 1939–1945’ exhibition features approximately 280 objects, including military uniforms, weapons, documents, and personal belongings from the wartime period.
