National Koranyi Pulmonology Institute offers free lung screenings
The National Koranyi Pulmonology Institute is offering free lung screenings at its 12th district center in Budapest as part of a European Union project. The program utilizes low-dose CT (LDCT) scans, which provide three-dimensional images to detect small abnormalities more effectively than traditional two-dimensional chest X-rays.
To qualify for the free screening, applicants must be between 50 and 74 years old and have been regular, active smokers for at least 15 years. Additionally, participants must not have undergone a lung CT scan in the last 10 months, must possess a smartphone and an email address, and cannot have a history of malignancy, ongoing cancer treatment, or an acute respiratory infection.
