National Library of Greece to host Synastry art and science project

The “Synastry” project, a multidimensional cultural initiative, will be held from September 16 to October 4, 2026, at the National Library of Greece, located within the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center. Conceived by Lefteris Moysiadis and curated by Kostas Prapoglou, the project explores the connections between humanity and the cosmos through various artistic and scientific lenses.

The exhibition features works from 20 visual artists who interpret planets and constellations through painting and sculpture. This is complemented by the contributions of 13 contemporary Greek poets and a selection of rare manuscripts and books regarding cosmography, astronomy, and astrology from the National Library’s Special Collections.

Beyond the central venue, the project is designed to unfold across four different locations in Athens, creating a “star map” of the city. The initiative aims to use the concept of synastry not for prediction, but as a framework to examine relationships between art, poetry, science, and collective memory.
