National Lok Adalat scheduled across India for September 12
National Lok Adalats are scheduled to be held across various regions in India, including Nagpur and Odisha, on September 12 to facilitate the amicable settlement of pending and pre-litigation cases.
In Nagpur, the initiative is being organized under the guidance of the District Legal Services Authority and the Bar Association. The sessions will span district, taluka, labour, industrial, and family courts, as well as consumer grievance forums. Eligible cases include civil and criminal matters, motor accident compensation, land acquisition, matrimonial disputes, and bank recovery cases. The process aims to provide speedy justice through mutual agreement without the need for lengthy arguments or evidence recording.
Similarly, in Odisha, the Third National Lok Adalat will be held under the auspices of the District Legal Services Authority, Koraput–Jeypore. The proceedings will take place across multiple locations, including Koraput, Kotpad, and Laxmipur. The scope of settlements includes compoundable criminal cases, cheque dishonour, labour disputes, public utility service disagreements, and various revenue or service-related matters pending before various judicial authorities.
