National Rally of Liberties files HACA complaint over radio host statements
The National Rally of Liberties (RNI) has filed a formal complaint with the High Authority for Audiovisual Communication (HACA) regarding statements made by a sports program host on a private radio station. The party alleges that the host's remarks, made on September 14, 2026, exceeded the bounds of legitimate media criticism and included “implications of threat and violence.”
The RNI emphasized that the comments were not made by a guest or interviewee, but by the program host himself during a sports broadcast. The party argues that this constitutes an exploitation of a media platform to express biased views against a political actor and introduces aggressive political discourse into a non-political programming space.
Citing HACA decision number 50-26 issued in June 2026, the party highlighted regulations regarding professional practice, broadcast control, and the prohibition of using media positions to express biased ideas or malicious interpretations. The RNI stated that while it respects press freedom and sharp criticism, such freedom must remain tied to professional responsibility and legal ethics, particularly during an election period that requires neutrality and integrity.
