Indonesia announces 2026 National Santri Day theme and logo

Indonesia's Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) has officially released the theme, logo, and schedule for the 2026 National Santri Day (Hari Santri Nasional), which will be observed on October 22, 2026. The theme, ‘Santri Menguatkan Negeri Menuju Indonesia Emas’ (Santri Strengthening the Nation Towards Golden Indonesia), emphasizes the role of Islamic boarding school students (santri) and pesantren in national development toward the 2045 vision.

The official logo features a dynamic turquoise and gold weave, symbolizing the unity between santri, pesantren, and the community. The 2026 celebrations include ten major agendas, such as the Pesantren Award, an expo of pesantren-based businesses, and a national ceremony.

Regional activities are also underway. In Central Java, the provincial government has distributed scholarships to 482 santri and initiated a cleanliness movement across 117 pesantren. In Riau, discussions have emerged regarding the role of santri in providing social support to communities affected by forest and land fires (karhutla).
