The 2026 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) is scheduled to begin its preliminary stage on Thursday, August 20. A total of 174 schools are expected to participate in the national championship stage this year.

Of these institutions, 27 have already secured automatic qualification to the One-Eighth Stage. The remaining 147 schools will compete in 49 preliminary contests, with three schools participating in each contest, to determine who advances to the next round. These contests will run over five days, concluding on Monday, August 24.
