National Science and Maths Quiz 2026: Schools advance to quarter-finals

The 2026 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) has progressed into the One-eighth stage, with several major schools securing spots in the quarter-finals.

Defending champions Mfantsipim School advanced to the next round after defeating Wesley Girls’ High School and Afua Kobi Ampem SHS with a final score of 66 points. In a significant upset, Presby SHS, Bompata eliminated the seeded Our Lady of Grace Senior High School (OLAG), finishing with 34 points to OLAG’s 28.

Other schools qualifying for the quarter-finals include Prempeh College, Keta SHTS, Ghana National College, Osei Tutu SHS, Ofori Panin SHS, Pope John SHS, St John’s Grammar, Aburi Girls’ SHS, and St Augustine’s College. Notably, St Augustine’s College was declared the winner of its contest by forfeiture after Anlo SHS and Kumasi High School left the stage before the final round.

Keta SHTS also secured its place in the quarter-finals with a 56-point performance, defeating Kadjebi Asato SHS and Anum Presby SHS.
