NSMQ 2026: Accra High and Presby SHS secure One-Eighth stage spots

Several schools have secured qualification for the One-Eighth stage of the 2026 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) during the preliminary rounds held at the CNC Auditorium.

Accra High School advanced after a dramatic final-round turnaround, finishing with 33 points to edge out Ghana SHS, Tamale (32 points) and Sunyani SHS (31 points). The late reversal caused Sunyani SHS to walk out before official scores were declared.

Other successful schools include Nsutaman Catholic SHS, Presby SHS, Suhum, and Presby SHS, Adeiso. Presby SHS, Suhum recorded the highest score of the day with 55 points. Nsutaman Catholic SHS earned the GOIL Riddle Bonanza Award, while Hope College won the Prudential Life NSMQ Star award.

Seven qualification slots remain to be decided on the final day of competition, featuring 21 remaining schools.
