National Spokespersons Awards honors Nigerian officials

The 6th National Spokespersons Awards (NSA) 2026, held in Abuja, recognized several Nigerian officials for excellence in public communication. Hakama Sidi-Ali, spokesperson for the Central Bank of Nigeria, was named Spokesperson of the Year, while Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, the Kano State Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, received the Crisis Communicator of the Year award.

Other honorees included Abdurrahman Bundi, a technical assistant to the Borno State Governor, who won in the Digital Communication category. The ceremony also recognized the Nigerian Customs Service and the Federal Road Safety Corps.

The awards, organized by Image Merchants Promotion Limited, involved a rigorous selection process. Out of 171 nominations, a seven-member jury evaluated finalists based on impact, innovation, reach, and quality of evidence to promote professionalism and public trust in communication.
