National Spokespersons Awards 2026 in Nigeria

The 6th National Spokespersons Awards (NSA) 2026 was held in Abuja to recognize excellence in Nigerian public communication. The ceremony, organized by Image Merchants Promotion Limited, utilized a seven-member jury to evaluate 171 nominations based on criteria such as impact, innovation, and reach.

Among the honorees, Hakama Sidi-Ali, the Acting Director of Corporate Communications and Investor Relations at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), was named Spokesperson of the Year. This award follows her previous recognitions as the Outstanding Spokesperson for the Banking Sector in 2024 and 2025. The jury highlighted her role in strengthening the CBN’s communications architecture, including managing Monetary Policy Committee briefings and international advocacy.

Other recipients included Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, the Kano State Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, who was named Crisis Communicator of the Year, and Abdurrahman Bundi, who won in the Digital Communication category. The awards also recognized the Nigerian Customs Service and the Federal Road Safety Corps.
