National Tax and Customs Administration launches new receipt reporting system
The National Tax and Customs Administration (NAV) has implemented a new receipt data reporting service. As of September 1, businesses are required to submit data for both manual and computer-generated receipts to the tax authority. Data must be submitted within three days of the receipt being issued.
To facilitate this transition, the former KOBAK portal has been renamed the ‘Pénztárgép Portál’ (Cash Register Portal). This new name reflects its role in managing online and e-cash register affairs, as well as manual data entry for the new reporting requirements. Existing users will retain their current access rights and data, and the system will automatically redirect users from the old KOBAK web address to the new portal.
For small businesses, such as market vendors and individual service providers, the NAV offers an e-cash register application that automates data submission. Larger enterprises may continue to use machine interfaces from their own systems. To support the transition, the NAV has announced a sanction-free period from September 1 until December 31, 2026, during which no fines will be issued for failure to comply or for incorrect reporting.
