Nations FC falls 1-0 to FC Diarra in CAF Confederation Cup opener

Nations FC, the Ghana FA Cup champions, suffered a 1-0 defeat to Malian side FC Diarra in the first leg of their CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round tie. The match, held at Stade Mamadou Konaté, remained scoreless through the first half as both teams struggled to create clear-cut chances.

FC Diarra broke the deadlock in the 55th minute to secure a slender lead. Despite Nations FC committing more players forward in the closing stages to find an equaliser, the Malian side maintained their defensive shape to protect the victory.

Nations FC will look to overturn the one-goal deficit in the return leg, which is scheduled for Sunday, September 13, in Ghana. This marks the club's debut in Africa’s second-tier continental competition.
