NATO condemns Russian airspace violations in Poland and Romania

The North Atlantic Council has condemned Russia following recent violations of the airspace of Poland and Romania. During a meeting of member state ambassadors, the Council addressed these incursions and recent incidents involving drones and missiles on the Alliance’s eastern flank.

NATO members expressed full solidarity with the affected allies and stated that Russia bears full responsibility for the violations. In a statement, the Alliance described Moscow’s actions as ‘dangerous and unacceptable,’ noting they demonstrate an ‘increasing tolerance for risk’ by Russia.

To counter these threats, NATO is continuing to strengthen its integrated air and missile defense systems across the Alliance, with specific focus on enhancing defenses on the eastern flank from the Baltic Sea to the Black Sea. The Alliance reaffirmed its readiness to deter and defend against any form of aggression.
