NATO warns Russia would incur severe losses in any attack on Poland or Baltic states

NATO Military Committee chairman Josep Kava Dragne warned that Russia would suffer far greater damage than any gain if it were to attack Poland or the Baltic countries. "Today Russia would lose far more than it would gain from any action against Poland or the Baltics. We are prepared," he said, stressing NATO’s readiness to impose an unacceptable cost on any aggression. Dragne noted that the alliance is studying lessons from the war in Ukraine, including the use of drones, electronic warfare and rapid deployment of new technologies. He called for European partners to strengthen strategic air transport, long‑range precision strikes, intelligence, surveillance and electronic warfare capabilities. The chair also said a reduced U.S. military presence in Europe would not create a security vacuum provided the transition is coordinated and European nations gradually assume former U.S. responsibilities.
