Natura expands Mexican operations and launches ESG financial tool

Beauty and personal care company Natura is expanding its operations in Mexico, aiming to increase the proportion of locally produced goods from 30% to 60% in the medium term. To support this growth, the company is reinforcing production at its 300,000-square-meter manufacturing plant in Celaya, Guanajuato. This facility currently produces all Avon products sold in Mexico and supplies parts of Central America. Natura plans to invest 7 million pesos this year into developing its local supplier chain, which currently consists of 630 business partners.

In addition to physical expansion, Natura has launched ‘The Future P&L’, a free platform designed to help companies integrate social and environmental variables into traditional financial results. Developed with Africa Creative, the tool allows businesses to quantify ESG (environmental, social, and governance) impacts to assist in financial decision-making. Natura has utilized this integrated profit and loss methodology internally since 2021 to track socio-environmental impacts.
