Nature and gardening lectures and insights in the Netherlands

Bernard Mekelenkamp, an expert with over thirty years of experience, will host a lecture in Winschoten on October 22, 2026. The presentation focuses on the vital role of earthworms in maintaining healthy garden soil, addressing issues such as water drainage, soil compaction, and drought resistance.

In separate nature-related news, forest ranger Frans Kapteijns is providing insights into local wildlife. This includes addressing inquiries regarding the health and mortality of hares in polder areas, noting that deaths can result from disease, old age, predator attacks, or modern agricultural and traffic factors.
