Naucalpan reports progress in infrastructure and public safety
The government of Naucalpan, led by Isaac Montoya Márquez, has reported significant progress in both infrastructure development and public safety.
In terms of public works, the administration aims to rehabilitate one million square meters of roads and avenues across 146 neighborhoods. The Public Works department has already completed over 500,000 square meters, while the Public Services department and the Municipal Water Organism (OAPAS) have contributed a similar amount. These efforts include replacing obsolete hydraulic networks with high-resistance materials to prevent sinkholes and water leaks. Notable projects include the repaving of nearly 10 kilometers of the Periférico Norte lateral lanes and the rescue of Avenida Río Bravo.
Regarding public security, data from the Oficina Coordinadora de Riesgos Asegurados (OCRA) indicates that insured vehicle theft in Naucalpan decreased by 63.3 percent between 2024 and 2026. Additionally, high-impact crimes fell by 35.8 percent between 2024 and 2025, according to the Fiscalía General de Justicia del Estado de México. Citizen perception of insecurity also improved, dropping from 80.8 to 71 percent according to INEGI. To support these trends, the municipal government increased its patrol fleet from 120 to over 400 vehicles and is expanding its video surveillance network from 65 to a target of 1,200 cameras.
