Naughty Dog announces new The Last of Us projects and 2027 reveal for Intergalactic

Naughty Dog has announced several updates regarding its future projects during the 2026 The Last of Us Day celebrations. Studio head Neil Druckmann confirmed that the developer is working on two new projects set within The Last of Us universe. These projects are in very early stages and are intended to “expand the canon of The Last of Us beyond Part I and Part II,” though it remains unclear if they will be video games or other media formats.

Regarding the studio’s next major intellectual property, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, Druckmann stated that a full reveal is scheduled for 2027. He described the sci-fi title as Naughty Dog’s “most ambitious game yet” and noted that the team will remain quiet for the remainder of 2026 to focus on development. The game follows a bounty hunter named Jordan A. Mun on the planet Sempiria.

Additional celebrations for The Last of Us Day included a collaboration with Sucker Punch Productions to provide a Clicker-inspired armor set for Ghost of Yotei, new PlayStation and Steam avatars, and a sale on The Last of Us titles via Steam and Epic Games Store.
