NAV receives 1.5 billion forints in receipt data via new digital systems

The National Tax and Customs Administration (NAV) has reported receiving 1.5 billion forints worth of receipt data within the first three days of its new digital reporting system. Following the launch on September 1, approximately 20,000 businesses registered 424,000 receipts through the new web-based Pénztárgép Portál, which is designed for companies continuing to use paper receipts.

Additionally, 12,000 businesses have implemented NAV’s free ePénztárgép mobile application. The value of receipts recorded via this smartphone application has nearly reached 1.3 billion forints. These new reporting methods allow the tax authority to monitor transactions that were previously only visible during physical audits.

To assist small businesses, NAV has released instructional videos to guide users through the digital registration process. The authority stated that it will focus on information and assistance during a sanction-free period lasting until the end of the year, aiming to help all businesses find the most convenient data reporting method for their operations.
