Navarra allocates over 222,200 euros for mountain pasture aid
The government of Navarra has approved more than 222,200 euros in aid for mountain pastures for 2026. This initiative aims to promote sustainable management and mitigate the effects of climate change through Nature-Based Solutions (NBS).
In Navarra, natural pastures and meadows cover approximately 140,689 hectares, representing about 13.5% of the region's total surface area. The funding is intended for local entities to improve or conserve mountain pastures that are adapted to harsh conditions such as high altitude, difficult soil, or extreme climates.
Subsidized activities include the installation and maintenance of livestock management facilities, such as fences, watering holes, and handling chutes, as well as costs related to direct management by local entities.
