Navarra political parties fail to reach unified election alliance

Political alliances for the upcoming November 29 general elections in Navarra have failed to reach a broad consensus, leading to fragmented electoral lists. Attempts by Geroa Bai to establish a unified coalition including the PSN, EH Bildu, and the parties within Contigo Navarra (Podemos, IU, and Batzarre) for both the Congress and the Senate have collapsed.

In the Senate, the Socialist Party (PSN) will run on a joint list with Izquierda Unida (IU) and Batzarre, forming the Frente Amplio coalition. However, for the Congress, parties will largely run separately. The PSN has opted to present its own solo list, led by Elma Saiz, to avoid the electoral risks of a broad coalition that might bolster EH Bildu's standing.

Other parties, including Geroa Bai, EH Bildu, and Podemos, will maintain their own separate lists for the Congress, though IU and Batzarre will participate in the Frente Amplio coalition. While Podemos expressed interest in a coalition excluding the PSOE, and Batzarre's membership voted overwhelmingly for left-wing unity, the lack of agreement among all partners has prevented a single progressive bloc.
