Navarra proposes 5.1 million euros in aid for drought-affected livestock
The Parliament of Navarra will address a legislative project to grant an extraordinary credit of 5.1 million euros to address various departmental needs within the 2026 budget. The majority of these funds, totaling 5 million euros, are earmarked for the agricultural sector following a prolonged drought between May and September 2026.
This aid is intended for owners of sheep, goat, cattle, and equine livestock farms. The initiative aims to support approximately 1,949 livestock holdings, providing between 8 and 50 euros per head of livestock.
Additionally, a credit supplement of 346,333 euros is designated for the Automotive and Mechatronics R&D Foundation (NAITEC) to sustain its ordinary activities amid projected treasury deficits. The parliamentary session will also cover modifications to the Climate Change and Energy Transition Law and discussions regarding social inclusion and guaranteed income proposals.
